Having filmed weddings at Castle Leslie Estate on many occasions, it’s a venue I’m always glad to return to. Even with that familiarity, the Castle and grounds still catch my attention every time I arrive.

Set in Glaslough, County Monaghan, the estate brings together the character of the Castle, the setting of Glaslough Lake, and the gardens and surrounding woodland. As a wedding videographer, it gives me plenty to work with, while keeping the couple and their day at the heart of the film.

I’ve put together a short venue film using some of my favourite footage from a wedding I captured here. If you’re considering Castle Leslie for your own wedding, it’s a glimpse of the setting through the eyes of someone who knows and loves filming there.

The film brings together the Castle, lake and grounds, showing some of the details and surroundings that make me enjoy returning. It’s a chance to see the setting in motion and imagine how it could become part of your own wedding film.

What I enjoy about filming here

For me, a venue becomes part of a wedding film’s story. The surroundings help establish a sense of place, but it’s the people and what happens between them that give the film its meaning.

At Castle Leslie, I enjoy finding that balance: capturing the scale and character of the estate alongside the smaller, more personal moments of the day. I want couples to recognise both the place they chose and how it felt to be there with their favourite people.

Returning to a familiar venue is lovely, but each wedding brings a different atmosphere. That’s what keeps filming here interesting. The setting may be familiar; the story belongs to the couple.
